The Butte College men's basketball team opened its season with a 74-58 victory over De Anza on Thursday in the Costello Memorial Tournament in Livermore.
Michael Oloya's double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds led the Roadrunners, who had four players in double-figures. Freshman guard Jud Sailsbery, an Orland High graduate, had 14 points. Justin Gavard added 11 points, and Jamaal Davis had 10 more. Arthur Caldwell had eight.
Butte went on an 8-0 run early on to take a 14-5 lead, and the Roadrunners held a 33-15 advantage shortly before halftime. De Anza got to within 12 points with about 6 minutes left in the game before Butte secured the win.
