The Division II West Region is set

The tournament field has been set and announced as the [Cal State Stanislaus] Warriors find out they will be the No. 7 seed in the West Region and will face No. 2 Seattle Pacific in the first round of the NCAA Championships.

Cal State San Bernardino will be the top seed and serves as the host of the West Region tournament at Coussoulis Arena.

The Cal State Stanislaus-Seattle Pacific quarterfinal round game will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14.

The Warriors won the CCAA Championship on Saturday in Ontario right at about the same time Seattle Pacific rallied to over-take Western Washington in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) tournament in Lacey, Wash.

The SPU Falcons, who are ranked 18th nationally, secured their second consecutive GNAC title and their fifth overall with the victory. The Falcons are 26-5 this season.

Cal State Stanislaus won its first CCAA championship and is appearing in its first NCAA Division II Championship tournament. The Warriors had made five trips to the Division III tournament between 1981 and 1989.

Pacific West Conference winner Chaminade picked up the eighth seed and will face the CSUSB Coyotes. Four teams qualified from the CCAA, two teams are from the GNAC and two from the Pacific West.
