SG — Kendall Smith, sophomoreIn previous roster projections, Seagears was slotted into this spot, providing another plus shooter in the backcourt. But now that he’s redshirting, Smith looks like the most natural fit next to Doolin due to his ball handling and scoring chops. He’s not the outside shooting threat that Seagears is (Smith made seven 3-pointers last year; Seagears hit 37), but he can score in favorable matchups, and he gained a ton of experience at both backcourt positions last year. His ability to back up at point guard will come in handy in the wake of Cook’s injury.
