Clifford redshirted as a sophomore at UC Irvine and then transferred after playing as a freshman. He is 7-foot, 260 pounds but he was situated behind a 7-foot-6 starter and a backup measuring 7-foot-2. The 7-foot-6 and 7-foot-2 bigs remain plus there are also three 6-foot-10 players on the current Anteater roster, including Mike (Terra Linda High) Best and Jonathan (Salesian High) Galloway.
