Coach Paul Brogan has his 2014-15 Modesto Junior College Pirate squad assembled and its one heavy on inexperience as just two sophomores are listed. But there are pluses as Brogan explains: "It's a fun and easy group to coach because they work hard but I have to be a little more patient because of the learning curve. We have more overall size -- we were small last year."
He also has two new assistant coaches in Jordan Jones and Wayne McGhee. Jones is coming over Chico State and UC Davis and "has a wide range of experience" according to Brogan while McGhee "is a long time coach in the area. He was coaching when I was in my senior year at Manteca High." McGhee's 1984 Modesto High team won the state championship.
