Bobbitt shines in UH intrasquad scrimmage

Hawaii scrimmaged on Saturday -- here are the notes involving Bay Area talents.

Via Dayton Morinaga:

Another standout was junior point guard Roderick Bobbitt, who finished with 20 points on 6-for-11 shooting, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. He was also the only player to be on the winning squad for all three periods.

“It was tough for me at first to get most of the plays down and everything, but now I’m getting more comfortable,” Bobbitt said. “I’m learning things better, so it’s been positive.”

"...junior point guard Quincy Smith is still resting a sore back..."

Via Brian McInnis:

UH coach Gib Arnold spoke highly of the efforts of both primary point guards in action, Roderick Bobbitt and Niko Filipovich.

“I thought we were a lot cleaner (from the previous week),” Arnold said. “Less turnovers. We ran our stuff a lot better, offensively. Defensively, I thought we got after it. We zoned a little bit this time. We’ve been working on our point zone, and so we threw that out there and I thought it looked at times really good. So we got better. We got better this week, for sure.”
