"Anybody else think Brandon Ashley looked a little tentative during the Red-Blue Game, his first public appearance since injuring his foot on Feb. 1?

He did, too.

“Definitely, there were times” of tentativeness, Ashley said Thursday, during lunchtime interviews at Pac-12 media day Thursday. “It takes time to develop that same confidence in your foot again after being off it so long.”

But the Red-Blue Game was nearly a week ago, and Ashley said he’s already feeling more confident on it now. And confidence, he said, is the main thing, having been medically cleared to practice fully for about two months now.

“It’s pretty much all mental at this point,” Ashley said. “It’s all mental.”
