* Jabari Bird 6-6 sophomore guard: The most heralded of the freshmen last season, Bird had an up-and-down campaign, plagued an ankle injury at midseason, then uneven play. But he finished strong, totaling 50 points in three NIT games.
“We hope he’s ready because he has the talent. He’s 6-6 with a great wingspan. He does a great job of shooting the pullup in the lane. When he’s missing shots, he’s got to continue to stay aggressive. He’s a very talented player, but also the type of guy who wants to please his coach and do right.”
