News about Khari Swift

Mel Grussing at his invaluable Antelope Valley College basketball fan site (every JC coach has it in his prayers to welcome the coverage Mel provides) has posted a recent article penned by Eric Harding in the Antelope Valley Press.

In it, is the news of a 2011 Bay Area talent taking his game south:
The new edition [AVC Coach] Taylor seemed most ecstatic about is Khari Swift, from Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo. The Northern California product averaged 19.3 points and 13.8 rebounds last season.

Taylor said he saw Swift play in a tournament in Los Angeles, where his AAU coach approached him. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound guard/forward drew comparisons to Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph from Taylor.

"He’s going to be a nightmare matchup," Taylor said. "I think he’s the kind of guy where if you put a guard on him, he’ll post up. If you put a post player on him, he’ll drive by you.

"His mom came and visited and really liked what we had to offer, so it’s all good."
