Rodney Tention heads south

Rodney Tention, an assistant coach at Stanford, has elected to move into a similar position at the University of San Diego under Bill Grier.

Locally, Tention coached (three years as an assistant, three as the head man) at Notre Dame de Namur from 1992-97, assisted at Skyline College in the 1988-89 season and played three years on The Hilltop, being named captain for two of those seasons.

Anyone know the reason(s) behind the move?

Tention certainly brings a wealth of experience to an assistant coaching staff lacking a true veteran and the program recently was connected to a point-shaving scandal.
