New Mexico senior forward Drew Gordon has been named the Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through December 18.
This is the third career weekly accolade for Gordon.
Gordon paced New Mexico with 13 points and 20 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season as the Lobos stretched their win streak to six games with a 66-56 victory over Oklahoma State at the 76th Annual All-College Classic in Oklahoma City last Saturday. The San Jose, Calif., native went 5-of-6 from the free throw line, and added two blocks and an assist. His 20-rebound performance was just two shy of the All-College Classic's record of 22, set by Wayman Tisdale in 1983.
Gordon was named to the All-College Classic All-Tournament team, and was tabbed the Most Valuable Player of the Bill Russell game, winning the Hank Iba award
