Mitch Stephens checks in at the proverbial confessional on Damian Lillard's earning of NBA Rookie of the Year. It certainly sounds like the line outside that particular church of basketball is a large one and credit Stephens for admitting his membership as so many like to bury their misses.
This will get some argument and understandably so but to have made a college hoops program relevant and a winner is a superlative and Herculean achievement that's hard to top.
Does being named Rookie of the year top that?
Maybe it's simply an apples-and-oranges comparison.
