Here is his bio from the Cañada site:
Matt Stanley finishes his 2nd season as the Head Coach at Cañada College. He became the ninth Men’s Basketball Coach in school history, hired on April 14, 2011 by Hall of Fame Athletic Director Mike Garcia.
After 5 wins in year one, the Colts doubled their win total this year, a promising accomplishment in Coach Stanley's young career. The Colts will look to double-up again in 2013-2014.
Through last spring, Stanley served as an Assistant Coach at Foothill College (Los Altos Hills, CA) under Shanan Rosenberg. Stanley helped the Owls to a CCCAA Elite 8 appearance in 2010, and to the Round of 16 in 2008. In 5 years at Foothill, 11 of Stanley’s players earned scholarships to continue playing at 4-year institutions, and over 98% of his players graduated with their degrees. The Owls finished Top 20 in California 3 times.
Prior to coaching at Foothill, Stanley served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Nevada in ’05-’06 under Mark Fox. The Wolf Pack won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship and were ranked in the Top 25 for the majority of the year. They earned a berth in the NCAA tournament as a #5 seed.
Stanley spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant at Chico State University under Puck Smith, where he concurrently earned his M.A. in Physical Education. During Stanley's tenure, Chico State advanced to the NCAA Division II Regional both seasons, ’03-’04 and ’04-’05.
As a player, Stanley himself was a California Community College transfer, to Division III Lewis & Clark College. He helped the Pioneers to the Northwest Conference (NWC) Championship and a trip to the Elite Eight in 2002. Before that, he played for two years at Shasta College, winning the Golden Valley Conference (GVC) Championship in ‘00-‘01. A Chico, CA native, Stanley, 32, resides with his wife Ashley and their 3-year-old son, Preston, in San Jose, CA.
