Cal State San Marcos went down to the border and played hard but still fell 81-66 to San Diego State.
For the Aztecs, Xavier Thames was quiet via five points and a trio of assists in 24 minutes. Freshman Dakarai Allen concluded 16 minutes on the court with nine points plus a pair of assists while frosh D'Erryl Williams scored a bucket in 14 minutes of play.
For the Warriors, De'End Parker finished with 14 points (3-5 from long distance) and five rebounds. Former Foothill College guard Bobby Macias posted nine points and six boards.
