The Aztecs move on

30 points from senior guard Xavier Thames propelled San Diego State to a 63-44 second round victory yesterday over upstart North Dakota State. He was also credited for five assists. The Bison could manage but a paltry 23 points and then 21 points each half.

From Brad Edgerton: "Xavier Thames scored or assisted on 71%(!) of SDSU's points. His 30 points were one short of a career high."

Jeff Eisenberg game reports.

The Aztecs are now in the Sweet 16 versus either Arizona or Gonzaga.
