UC San Diego went up the coast last night and fell to Cal State San Marcos 78-72. For the victors, senior backcourter Akachi (Grand Canyon/Yuba College/Jesuit High) Okugo produced 22 points, eight assists and four rebounds in playing the full 40 minutes.
Sophomore guard Grant (Monte Vista High) Jackson lived large for the Tritons as he tallied 25 points and corralled five boards. He shot 4-6 from long distance and shot 10-15 overall.
CS San Marcos jumped out to a 39-21 halftime lead.
