Down in the Southland, Cal State Los Angeles pulled a surprise by defeating Chico State 65-64 on Saturday. Despite the loss, Isaiah (Center High) Ellis continued his hot streak with 23 points as well as nine rebounds. He shot 9-13 overall plus 5-5 at the foul line. Teammates Robert (Granite Bay High) Duncan and Tanner (Fresno State/Windsor High) Giddings provided 14 points, eight boards and seven assists plus 13 points and seven rebounds respectively. Duncan took 17 shots and was just 2-9 from three-point range.
The Wildcats owned the boards at 39-25 but committed 15 turnovers to just six for CSLA.
