CMA won 65-55 in the first semifinal of the night, outshooting the Bobcats from the floor and from the line. For the Bobcats, Michael Pierick caught fire and poured in 25 points, draining 6-of-8 from behind the line. No other UCM player reached double figures. Ryan Edwards contributed nine points and seven rebounds for the Bobcats, who finish the season with a 9-14 record.
In the second semifinal, the Golden Eagles and the Red Hawks went back and forth for forty minutes, but LSU was able to pull away just enough at the end to claim the victory. Three players topped the 20-point mark, led by 25 from Andre Marquez, who hit 11-of-18 shots from the floor, as well as grabbing a team-high 11 boards. Gerald Williams added 23 and 10 assists, and Kyle Hamilton finished with 20 for the Golden Eagles, who advance to the final with a 9-18 record.
