Connor (Archbishop Mitty) Peterson, a freshman at Azuza Pacific, has been named the Pac West Conference Defender of the Week.
"Kutlesic and Peterson led APU to a pair of wins on the week, running the Cougars; winning streak to four-consecutive games and putting them in line to potentially win the conference title in the final week.
Kutlesic averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. Peterson averaged 15.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. They each had double-doubles in a double-overtime win over Dominican, with Kutlesic notching team-highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Peterson collecting 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Kutlesic scored the game-winning three-point play as he was fouled on a putback in the final seconds. The duo combined for 23 points and 10 rebounds in a win over conference leader Concordia. Kutlesic added four blocks and Peterson had seven assists.
Kutlesic ranks fourth in the PacWest in rebounding (8.8 rpg) and seventh in total blocks (22). Peterson is fourth in the conference in assists (4.8 apg)."
