Out of Laguna Creek High in Elk Grove, 6-foot-8 sophomore Malik Pope posted a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double to power visiting San Diego State to a 78-56 victory over San Jose State University. He shot 7-11 overall, 3-4 from long distance and also rejected three shot attempts. Teammate Dakarai Allen provided four assists, three boards and three steals in 22 minutes.
The score was 33-29 at halftime.
