After three overtimes, it came down to one point.

The No. 2-seed Aptos High boys basketball team lost a hard-fought battle to No. 3 Aragon, 94-93, in triple overtime Wednesday night in the Central Coast Section Division III semifinals at Foothill College.

Luke Rossi led the Mariners (22-6) with 25 points. Jonah Gonzales followed, scoring 21, while Cole Welle led with 21 rebounds and an additional 15 points.

Ben Dorfman also deposited 15 points and Dante Gomez scored 11 for the Mariners, who finished second in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League.

Aragon moves on to the CCS championship at Santa Clara University on Saturday at 4 p.m. It will face No. 5 Valley Christian, which beat No. 8 Hillsdale 61-40 earlier in the evening.
