News of out of California Collegiate Athletic Association

From the CCAA:
The California Collegiate Athletic Association Executive Council voted to vacate Chico State’s men’s basketball team's 85-58 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills on February 15, 2014, because a student-athlete competed in the contest while ineligible.

When a team vacates a victory, the win is removed from the team’s won-lost record, but the record of its opponent is unaffected. Thus, entering play on February 28, Chico State’s Conference mark is 14-5. Cal State Dominguez Hills’ 4-16 CCAA record is unaffected.

Vacating the win does not impact Chico State’s eligibility for the 2014 CCAA Basketball Tournament next week in Ontario, California, and it also does not affect its seeding. The Wildcats will be the Number 3 seed in the event.

The Conference’s action does not change Chico State’s overall record. NCAA policy permits conferences to vacate outcomes of conference games, but the NCAA does not alter overall records of teams unless directed to do so by the NCAA Committee on Infractions.
