In Las Vegas on Friday and in a game that was expected to be much closer, West Virginia had no trouble with San Diego State, winning 72-50. For the Aztecs, Dakarai (Sheldon High) Allen had nine points in 22 minutes and Malik (Laguna Creek High) Pope tallied five points plus five caroms. Steve Fisher's crew shot 13-38 overall and 0-9 from beyond the arc.
