"A pair of Pacific Union post players from Texas, Taureaus Maxwell and Ariel Barnes, have been named the California Pacific Conference Players of the Week for Feb. 15, 2016.
Maxwell shot an efficient 7-of-10 from the floor to lead the Pioneers to a thrilling win over No. 21 Cal Maritime on Thursday, and then hit what proved to be the game winner in another one-point victory two days later when he laid in a shot to give PUC a narrow win over UC Merced. The two wins lifted the Pioneers, who have now won three in a row, back into the race for a spot in the Cal Pac Tournament. The senior from Texarkana, Tex., recorded two double-doubles during the week, totaling 16 points and 11 rebounds against the Keelhaulers, and then followed that up with 11 points and 14 boards against the Bobcats. For the week, Maxwell shot 72% from the floor (13-of-18) and pulled down 25 rebounds."
