Feather River 80, Butte 76

ChicoER: "The Butte College men’s basketball team was in Quincy on Wednesday for a head-to-head with Feather River, the second-ranked team in Northern California. The Roadrunners, ranked No. 12, played their northern rivals tightly, but a barrage of 3-pointers in the second half made the difference for Feather River.

Butte fell 80-76 on the road, despite 25 points from Josiah Wood and 20 from Michael Shoemaker. Terry Clarendon added 12 for the Roadrunners (16-9, 5-3 Golden Valley Conference).

Butte had a strong start, leading 21-14 at one point and 30-29 later in the first half. But Feather River scored the last nine points of the first period to lead 38-31 at the half. In the second, the Golden Eagles went up by as many as 15 points thanks to 35 points from Derrick Randolph, including 10 3-pointers. The Roadrunners cut the deficit to 2 points, but couldn’t complete the comeback."
