Hawaii 76, UC Santa Barbara 64

Coming to the mainland, Hawaii nabbed a 76-64 win over UC Santa Barbara on Thursday as Quincy (CCSF/Deer Valley High) Smith provided the victors with 15 points, five boards, three assists and a pair of rebounds.

"Senior guard Quincy Smith continued his solid play of late by contributing 15 points, including 2 of 3 on 3-pointers, and five rebounds.

“He’s a big part of our identity,” [Hawaii Coach Eran] Ganot said of Smith. “I know it was surprising from day one when he played such a big role for us. I think people were surprised by that, but if you were there with him every day in practice you’re not. He affects the game in so many ways. The bonus is he gets 15 points … he always rebounds, he guards his tail off and he’s got a 3 to1 assist to turnover ratio. I like those guys.”

Michael (Foothill High) Bryson's 16 points and 10 boards paced the Gauchos.
