Via Hoops Agents, Marquin Chandler is going to the training camp of the Minnesota Timberwolves:
Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) strengthened their training camp roster with addition of 31-year old forward Marquin Chandler (202-F-82, agency: Haylett Sports, college: San Jose St.). He played most recently in Taiwan with Team USA. Chandler sat out most of the event with a pull groin but still managed to average 16 points per game. In his final game verse Taiwan; Chandler scored a game high 18 points in just 8 minutes.
The previous (12-13) season Chandler played at Chiba Jets (Japan). In 41 games he averaged 20.6ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.8apg and 1.3spg in 2012-13 season (ranked 3rd in scoring).
Chandler attended the New York Knicks training camp in 2013 along with the Kings in 06'.
Among other achievements Chandler played 5 years in the Korea (KBL). He was named Asia-Basket.com All KBL Import Team 4 times along with 3 All-Star honors. Chandlers' best season was in the 2008-09 season. He averaged a league best 26 points per game along with 9 rebounds.
Chandler graduated from San Jose State University in 2005. He posted a conference high 19.7ppg along with 8.9 rebounds. He was named 2nd Team All-WAC.
Sam Mitchell was quoted: A very Big and quick forward who has NBA shooting ability. A brilliant ball handler for his size. Can play at the next level. In the international game can play the 4/5, but in the NBA would be a natural three man.
