Redwoods opens with a victory

College of the Redwoods Men's Basketball Page: "Justin Claus had 24 points, lighting up the court with six 3-pointers to lead the College of the Redwoods men’s basketball team to a 95-83 win over visiting Simpson University on Sunday afternoon. It was the fourth consecutive year that CR won its season-opener.
Redwoods (1-0 overall) will take on Skyline at the Solano Tournament on Friday at 5 p.m. Its next home game will be December 4 and 5 when it hosts the Redwoods Tournament.

The Corsairs began the game playing up-tempo and opened up an early 10-point lead. After growing the lead to 33-20, however, the Corsairs saw its lead shrink to 35-33. Freshman Will Ingersoll came in off the bench to provide a spark and help grow the lead at several points during the game, finishing with 14 points. Tule O’Rourke had 22 points with three 3-pointers, and DeAndre Winston contributed 12, all coming in the crucial second half..."
