Glen Cravens reported: "Wyatt Maker will soon be going to the hilltop along the East Bay.
The Palma High senior finalized his decision earlier this week, announcing he will accept a scholarship to play at Cal State East Bay in Hayward.
“I’ve kind of known for a couple of weeks, but it was a matter of me finally putting it in stone,” Maker said.
Maker went on an official visit to the Hayward campus and liked the environment as well as the coaching staff and players.
Going to Hayward is ideal, given it’s a notable drive along Highway 880 but not a timezone or two away. The team also plays in the same conference as CSU Monterey Bay.
“It’s far enough away where I can get my space but still be close to where my family can watch,” Maker said.
Maker said it’s likely he will red shirt when gets there in 2016 but he will be putting in work in the meantime..."
