From here:
JOJO ZAMORA, point guard, 6-foot-2, Yuba College, Calif.
A three-star junior college guard, Zamora comes brings immediate scoring talent. He averaged a team-leading 18.3 points and 4 assists per game for Yuba College. He came to JC via Newark Memorial High in Oakland, then Impact Academy in Las Vegas.
Zamora told the Tribune that his family in the Bay Area drove out to Yuba City for his signing event, which he celebrated with his teammates.
"He's just a really good basketball player," Yuba coach Doug Cornelius said last month. "He reads the floor really well. He doesn't do one thing phenomenally well — maybe except score — but he does a little bit of everything. And he's not one of those kids who is going to put his elbow in the rim, but you'll watch him and think, 'Man, that kid really knows the game.'"
Zamora figures to replace some of Utah's departing backcourt talent, and seems to replicate some of the skills of Brandon Taylor, who will graduate next year.
Krystkowiak's take: "Jojo is a highly skilled guard that can score the basketball in multiple ways. He has a great feel on both ends of the floor, but we are really excited about what he brings to us from a defensive perspective. We continue to seek out student-athletes that possess a high-character mentality and Jojo is a great example of what we are looking for in a player. He brings a certain element that our program is looking for and we are excited about getting him on campus next fall."
