2015-16 MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CCAA TEAM ANNOUNCED

The California Collegiate Athletic Association honorees:

"The 2016 California Collegiate Athletic Association Regular-Season Champion, including Most Valuable Player Robert Duncan, placed a Conference-best five players on this year's All-Conference team.

Joining Duncan on the first team was sophomore forward Isaiah Ellis, while their teammates Tanner Giddings and Corey Silverstom were named to the Second team and Jalen McFarren earned Honorable Mention.

San Francisco State's Warren Jackson was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year, Chris Hansen of UC San Diego earned Freshman of the Year, and Chico State's Greg Clink was named Coach of the Year for the second-straight year.

UC San Diego followed the Wildcats closely with four total selections, also naming two — senior Drew Dyer and junior Adam Klie to the First team. Five programs — Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Marcos, Humboldt State, San Francisco State — named three individuals to the All-CCAA team, with two players from Humboldt State on the First team. Senior guard Rakim Brown and sophomore guard Malik Morgan were selected to the First team, while Thomas Witzel was named to the Second team for the Lumberjacks. 

Cal Poly Pomona also had two First team selections in seniors Barry Bell and Jordan Faison. Rounding out the the group of 10 was Cal State San Marcos' Darnell Taylor and Cal State Monterey Bay's Ryan Nitz.

Duncan, a junior from Granite Bay, is the first Wildcats' player to be tabbed the Conference's top player since the 2011-12 season, when former Chico State standout, Jay Flores, earned the honor. Duncan helped the Wildcats' claim their second-consecutive CCAA Regular-Season title with his averages of 15 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. In Conference play, he averaged 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds.

A sophomore transfer from Cabrillo College, Jackson was the Gators leading guard and averaged 10.7 points per game. He also ranked second on his team with his 46-percent shooting from the floor and 73-percent shooting from the free throw line. 

Hansen was also stellar during regular-season play, averaging 10.1 points and 5.0 rebounds and collecting totals of 16 blocks and 13 steals en route to helping the Tritons clinch their second-straight post-season tournament berth.

In his eighth season with the Wildcats, head coach Clink earned his third overall and second in as many years Conference Coach of the Year nod after guiding his team to its third CCAA Championship Title in four years and its seventh-straight CCAA Championship Tournament Appearance. He coached the Wildcats to an outstanding 22-6 record, including 16-4 in Conference play, improving his overall record to 151-85.
