De La Salle was definitely ready in its battle with Chino Hills, taking it to the Southlanders inside but The Ball Brothers and crew kept creeping closer and then used a quick third quarter run in defeating the Spartans 70-50 last night in Sacramento.
DLS led 19-9 in the first quarter when both dribble-drives and penetration kickouts produced scores. The Concord bunch led 30-28 at the half.
Then the combination of a Spartan scoring drought and a Chino points run put the #1 team in the country ahead 45-37 after three and that was that.
Emeka Udenyi was both fearless and physical for De La Salle. He totaled 11 points as Jordan Ratinho led with 16 points.
