The first thought that comes to mind upon seeing this score is that there must be a typo. The Gaels must have scored 144, right? But no, it's accurate as St. Mary's missed its first 10 second-half shots and allowed a 16-0 scoring run in falling 60-44 on the road Tuesday in Indiana as part of the NIT.
Randy Bennett's guys shot 19-56 overall while Valpo, a member of the Horizon league, was a more efficient 23-50. At the foul line, the Gaels earned just five attempts and made but one.
