It's official with Kyle Smith and USF.
As an aside, the Dons are getting a hard-working individual with the necessary emotional intelligence to keep players and a program on an even keel. Smith prefers an up-tempo style, will recruit to that and make inroads into the talent available in northern California (a USF sore spot for some time now). As for any Australian recruiting connections, St. Mary's will remain the frontrunner for non one-and-done but still talented prospects but USF doesn't necessarily need that. Getting kids to come to San Francisco should not be a hard sell--the education is terrific, the city is booming with employment opportunities and the West Coast Conference has a fine basketball rep.
