Murray on Cam Oliver

Reno Gazette-Journal Nevada beat reporter Chris Murray: "AT THIS POINT, OLIVER HAS TO test the NBA waters, right? What’s the downside? Given the new NCAA rules, players can enter their name in the draft unlimited times over the course of their career. They can attend the NBA Combine and participate in one private workout for each of the 30 NBA teams. If invited to the NBA Combine, they can work 12 hours per week with their college coaches. And if they want to, they can pull their name from the draft after the combine (by May 25) and keep their college eligibility. It’s a win-win for players. I’m not saying Oliver is ready for the NBA (not many Pack games were scouted this year). He needs at least one more years of seasoning. But NBA teams will love his athleticism, strength, shooting ability and rim-protection skills. Worst-case scenario for putting you name out there is you get good feedback and at least put yourself on the NBA radar so scouts check you out next year."
