Wrote this down the other day: "Most opponents attempt to try and slow down Feather River but Contra Costa likes it as fast as possible too. To go the molasses route would veer away from one the best strengths of the Comets."

The outcome: Coach Miguel Johnson and CCC did not employ the use of stop signs but rather put the pedal to the metal in a 106-84 victory over host FRC. This after a long ride to Quincy.

Contra Costa College Men's Basketball: "The Comets shellshocked Feather River College (#3 in the state) 106-84 to advance to the final 4 of the Northern California State Playoffs!!! After a flat start left them down 29-11 early in the game, the Comets found their rythym and their uptempo game was simply too much for Feather River to handle. F Jeremiah Alston was on fire, hitting six 3's on his way to 25 points, while G Anthony Sullen had 20 points and 6 rebounds. F Deonte Smith added 16 points and 7 rebounds and G Bobby Syvanthong had 16 points and dropped 12 dimes! The Comets move on to play the winner of Fresno/Monterey Saturday night... GO COMETS!!!"
