A Bay Area Warriors update

Coach Randy Bessolo recently provided an update on his Bay Area Warriors squad:

We will be playing in 3 NCAA sanctioned events in July.

* 7/14-15 Gerry Freitas' NorCal Hoop Review event at CiCSF

* 7/18-22 at the Pump's Best of the Summer event in Anaheim

* 7//26-29 at the Fab 48 tournament in Las Vegas

We have had 14 players go D-I from our program the last six years and many more go D-II, D-III and JUCO.

Here are some of the guys from the Class of 2013 who are playing on my Bay Area Warriors Club Team.

* Kenny Love, Cardinal Newman, 6-foot-1 combo guard - Kenny can really score a lot of different ways. He was first-team all-NBL and has been receiving D-1 interest from several schools

* Jeremy Dennis, St. Mary's Berkeley, 6-foot-4 combo guard - Jeremy can score and has good size and athleticism for a guard. He is a D-I athlete, was first team all-BSAL and scored 25 vs. Salesian.

* Harold Getz, University, 6-foot-3 combo guard - Harold shows great handles and the ability to get to the rim for a big guard. He is on my high school and was a first-team all-league pick and a Chronicle All-Metro honorable mention. We have heard from a couple D-Is.

* Jacqui Biggins, Serra, 6-foot-1 shooting guard - A super shooter, Jacqui scored 27 on the Oakland Soldiers last weekend including seven three-pointers. He has received limited interest from D-Is but will get looks.

* Owen Putz, Half Moon Bay, 6-foot-9 - Owen is getting more skilled and athletic every day. He'll get D-I looks based on his size but is a bit of a project.

* Samson Donnick, Redwood, 6-foot-1 guard - Samson is strong and tough with good skills.

* Chris Mah, University, 5-foot-11 point guard - Another one of my high school guys who is fast and with real strong ball-handling skills and feel for the game. He set the University single season assist record with 195 this year and was both first-team all-league and and runner-up for player of the year in our league. Chris started on the team that went to the State Final Four a year ago and State Sweet 16 this year.

* Kevin Murray, Mission, 5-foot-10 - A real quick guard with super handles who can score.

* Al Waters, St. Ignatius, 5-foot-10 - A classic point guard and super competitor, he is getting low-level D-1 football recruiting interest.

* Jared Nodar, St. Mary's, 6-foot-5, forward (class of 2014).  Jared can play inside or on perimeter.
